Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, private transfer to the hotel

Ulaanbaatar – Elsen Tasarkhai Sand Dunes

In the early morning we will drive to Elsen Tasarkhai (Bayan Gobi) and Khugnu Khan Nature Reserve to marvel at the gorgeous rocky mountains and sand dunes. Upon arrival we will visit a camel breeder family and learn more about their nomadic lifestyle and the people of Mongolia. Enjoy an ultimate Mongolia bucket list experience by riding a camel for one hour around the nature reserve. Afterwards visit the Erdene Khamba Buddhist temple inside the Hogno Khaan Nature Reserve Park –a great place for hiking and that rewards you with spectacular reviews. Overnight in a ger camp. Elsen Tasarkhai – Karakorum

After a delicious traditional breakfast we drive to the ancient capital, Karakorum. Here we visit the legendary monastery Erdene Zuu, the first Buddhist monastery in Central Mongolia founded in 1586, as well as other nearby attractions such as Turtle Rock and the Phallic Stone. In the afternoon we will visit the newly established Museum of Karakorum which gives a great introduction to Central Mongolia, its history and the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Orkhon River Valley. Stay in a tourist ger camp. Accommodation: Ger camp, B+L+D

Karakorum – Tsenkher

Enjoy breakfast then drive to Tsenkher, where the local nomads will take you on a yak cart across the Orkhon Valley. On the way we will a stop in the town of Tsetserleg to visit the Zay Bandida monastery. Upon arrival meet a nomadic family and learn how they tend to their livestock. For dinner you will help the host make traditional dumplings and enjoy your first homemade Mongolian meal. Stay in a traditional ger tonight. Accommodation: Nomadic Family, B+L+D

Tsenkher – Tsagaan Ereg (by yak cart)

Have breakfast then participate in the daily chorse of the nomadic family. Afterwards you will assist in loading the baggage on the yak cart, and start a long trek towards Khuurai Garam. The scenic landscape of Orkhon Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, will give you many opportunities to stop and take photographs of the landscapes and people. Enjoy the fresh air and natural beauty along the way. Overnight in a tent. Accommodation: Tent, B+L+D

Tsagaan Ereg – Khuurai Garam (by yak cart)

After breakfast we continue our trek and cover 20 km to reach Khuurai Garam. Enjoy the wilderness and the beauty of Central Mongolia, one of the last wild travel destinations on earth. Full board and overnight in a tent. Accommodation: Tent, B+L+D

Khuurai Garam – Bor Taliin Rashaan

This morning we trade our yak carts for horses and start our ride to Bor Taliin Rashaan, the natural hot springs. We will stop at a nomadic family’s camp along the way and experience their genuine hospitality. Arrive at the hot springs in the evening and soak in their soothing waters. Stay in a tent overnight. Accommodation: Tent, B+L+D

Bor Taliin Rashaan – Suvarga Khairkhan

Have breakfast at camp then ride a full day to Suvarga Khairkhan. You’ll be amazed as you ride through our country’s magnificent natural beauty. At Suvarga Khairkhan we’ll set up our camp and sleep in tents under the starry sky. Accommodation: Tent, B+L+D

Suvarga Khairkhan – Tsenkher River

After breakfast we will continue the ride south and enjoy the views from  the top of the Khanggai Mountains. Tonight we stay with a nomadic family and enjoy traditional Mongolian dinner, Khorkhog, which is roasted mutton and beef cooked  with hot stones in a hot pot and served with rice and vegetables. Accommodation: Nomadic Family, B+L+D

Tsenkher hot spring – Lake Ogii

In the morning, we will drive to Ogii Lake. On the way we will visit the Turkish stone site of Khushuu Tsaidam. Khushuu Tsaidam has four memorial complexes including those erected in honour of Bilge Khan, a famous leader of Turkic Empire (d.734) and Kul Tegin, a general of Turkish army (d. 731). These memorials are the most important known archeological remains of the Turkic Empire, which extended across Central Asia in the 6-8 centuries AD. Arrive in Ogii and transfer to our ger camp, where we will stay for the night. Accommodation: Ger camp, B+L+D

Lake Ogii - Hustai National Park

Today we drive to Hustai National Park which is one of the most popular national parks in all of Mongolia, surrounded by rolling steppes. Upon arrival we will watch a short documentary and then we head into the national park to hike and try and spot the Asian wild horse known as Takhi, as well as birds and other wildlife. Overnight at Hustai Ger Camp. Accommodation: Ger camp, B+L+D

Hustai National park - Ulaanbaatar, city tour

In the morning we check out from ger camp and travel back to Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival we will visit the National History Museum, Sukhbaatar Square and Bogd Khan’s Palace Museum. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. Afterwards there’ll be free time for optional souvenir or cashmere shopping. Enjoy a traditional folklore concert by the magical Tumen Ekh ensemble. Farewell dinner at local restaurant. Accommodation: Hotel****, B+L+D
