Cycle around one of the most beautiful regions of Mongolia on this spectacular 10-day tour. You’ll visit the UNESCO World Heritage listed Orkhon Valley, meeting nomadic families on the way and spending the nights in tents beneath the stars.

Day 1: Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, private transfer to the hotel

A member of our team will meet you at the airport after you have gone through customs and transfer to your hotel. Today is left free for you to get settled in and rest before your wonderful journey across Mongolia. Welcome dinner at a local restaurant where you will have a briefing of the tour from your tour guide. Hotel 3* D

Day 2: Ulaanbaatar- Lake Ogii

Meet our team at 8 am in the hotel lobby drive to Lake Ogii. Lake Ogii is one of the biggest lakes in central Mongolia, and registered in Ramsar’s International Convention as a main passage for migratory birds. Upon arrival at the lake transfer to the tourist ger camp and have lunch. In the afternoon enjoy a half-day cycling trip around the lake and visit a nomadic family in the area to experience their genuine hospitality. Dinner and overnight at the camp. Ogii camp B+L+D 350 km

Day 3: Cycling to Karakorum via Kultigen’s Inscription

Today we will start our cycling adventure towards the beautiful Orkhon Valley. Stop en-route at the historical Kultigen’s Inscription (an inscription by a warlord from the Turkic empire in the 6-8th centuries). Have lunch along the way in Tsaidam camp. Continue cycling to Karakorum, the ancient capital of the mighty Mongol Empire led by Chinggis Khan. Upon arrival visit the Erdene Zuu monastery, the first Buddhist monastery in central Mongolia, which was constructed on the ruins of the ancient capital city. Check in at the tourist ger camp in the evening. Dinner and overnight. Munkhtenger camp or similar B+L+D 70 km

Day 4: Karakorum- Tuvkhun Monastery

After breakfast we continue our cycling towards the Tuvkhun Monastery. Today’s ride is over 70km, and we will have lunch along the way. Arrive in the Tuvkhun area and set our tents up in a scenic spot. In the late afternoon enjoy a horse ride to the Tuvkhun Monastery which was built by Zanabazar, the first Bogd Lama of Mongolia in the 17th century. Dinner and overnight in tents. Tent camping B+L+D 70 km

Day 5: Tuvkhun Monastery- Orkhon Waterfall

We continue our cycling to the Orkhon Waterfall, one of the highest and most beautiful waterfalls in Mongolia. Enjoy cycling through the historical Orkhon River Valley with a lunch break halfway. Arrive at the waterfall in the afternoon. Have time to explore the area with an optional hike, or visit a nomadic family to learn about their way of life. The rest of the day is spent at leisure in this stunning place. Dinner and overnight in the campsite. Tent camping B+L+D 40 km

Day 6: Orkhon Waterfall- Uurtiin Tokhoi (Talbiun camp)

After breakfast we cycle towards Uurtiin Tokhoi, a beautiful corner of the river gorge. The road takes you through the volcanic landscapes made up of lava and rocks. Cross the river before reaching Uurtiin Tokhoi and onwards to the camp. Arrive at the tourist camp in the late afternoon, have dinner and spend the night. Talbiun camp B+L+D 60 km

Day 7: Uurtiin Tokhoi – Karakorum (intersection) via Khujirt

Today we continue our cycling through the Orkhon River Valley for another 70 km with a lunch break on the way in a captivating spot. We’ll also make a short stop in the town of Khujirt. In the late afternoon arrive at our next tourist camp. Shower and dinner at the camp. Ger camp B+L+D 70 km

Day 8: Cycling to Elsen Tasarkhai

In the morning we depart to Elsen Tasarkhai and continue our cycling adventure for another 90km, mostly on a paved road. Lunch along the way and arrive at Elsen Tasarkhai in the late afternoon. Visit the sand dunes and enjoy short camel ride to give our legs a rest, which is sure to be a highlight of the trip. From here it’s just a short cycle to our camp for the night. Dinner and overnight in the traditional ger camp. Hoyor Zagal camp B+L+D 90 km

Day 9: Elsen Tasarkhai - Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast we drive back to Ulaanbaatar and check in to the hotel. For those interested, there will be optional souvenir and cashmere shopping. Enjoy a traditional folklore concert by the magical Tumen Ekh ensemble. There will be a farewell dinner tonight. Hotel 3* B+L+D 4-5-hour drive

Day 10: Departure from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

End your tour with an included transfer to the airport or train station after breakfast. B
