Tour introduction: Fall in love with Mongolia on this classic trekking and horse riding tour through the Khentii Mountains. You’ll camp in the steppe beneath our crystal clear skies, enjoy delicious local meals prepared by our professional chef and have the chance to meet with local nomadic families.

Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, private transfer to the hotel

A member of our team will meet you at the airport after you have gone through customs and transfer to your hotel. Today is left free for you to get settled in and rest before your wonderful journey across Mongolia. Accommodation: Hotel 3*, D

Ulaanbaatar - Giant Chinggis statue to Shohoi Tsagaan Bulag

After breakfast we will drive to the Giant Chinggis Statue, the largest equestrian statue in the world and a must-see attraction in Mongolia. From here we’ll start our trekking adventure towards Gun Galuut Nature Reserve. We’ll camp in Shohoi Tsagaan Bulag, a picturesque landscape in the Khentii Mountains. Enjoy dinner and overnight in a tent beneath a starry sky. Accommodation: Tenting, B+L+D, 10 km hike  

Shohoi Tsagaan Bulag - Tsagaan Hutul

We’ll enjoy breakfast out in nature and then start our hike. Today we walk 12km, with a lunch break halfway. At night we will camp near the lovely Tsagaan Hutul and have some time to relax by the camp fire, sip wine or beer and enjoy a delicious meal prepared by your cook. You are welcome to watch or help if you are interested. Accommodation: Tenting, B+L+D, 12 km hike

Tsagaan Hutul - Khushinga Mountain (Trekking)

We’ll have an early breakfast then start our final day of hiking towards Khushinga Mountain. Khushinga Mountain boasts one of the most beautiful landscapes in the area, with wild fruit bushes, small streams, tall grasses and pretty forests. After a full day of hiking through the mountains we’ll enjoy a freshly-made dinner with an outstanding view. Camp in the vast Mongolian countryside, which will give you the perfect chance to stargaze. Accommodation: Tenting, 12 km hike  

Hushinga Mountain - Gun Galuut Nature reserve

This morning we will drive to Gun Galuut Nature Reserve, where we will check in to our luxury ger camp. Take some time to rest and eat lunch before collecting our horses and riding through the vast steppe, passing Gun Lake and Ayga Lake, where you may see hundreds of water fowls during the summer months. Enjoy a traditional Mongolian dinner of Khorkhog, which is roasted mutton and beef cooked with hot stones in a hot pot and served with rice and vegetables. Accommodation: Cer camp, B+L+D, 3-4 hr horse ride

Leisure day in Gun Galuut (Half day horse ride)

Enjoy the wilderness and the beauty of the Mongolian steppes on your free day today. The Gun-Galuut Reserve is home to many endangered species, including the Argali wild mountain sheep. In the morning you can go on another horse ride to Mt Baits to try and catch a glimpse of the Argali sheep and other wild animals. There’ll be another chance to visit a nomadic family and they’ll happily share with you their nomadic way of life, and they may even allow you to join their daily chores, such as herding, milking and making dairy products. There’s also optional fishing and kayaking on the River Kherlen. Dinner and accommodation will be at our luxury ger camp. Accommodation: Cer camp, B+L+D, 4 hr horse ride

Gun Galuut Nature Reserve – Ulaanbaatar.

After breakfast we drive back to Ulaanbaatar, have lunch and check in to the hotel. We will visit the Gandan Monastery, housing the 26m high statue of Janraisag, the Sukhbaatar Square, National History Museum and Zaisan Memorial hill on a city tour. For those interested, there will be optional souvenir and cashmere shopping. Enjoy a traditional folklore concert by the magical Tumen Ekh ensemble. Accommodation: Hotel 3*, B+L+D
