Note: this price is not valid on 06-18 July because of the Naadam festival. Naadam is the highest season for our country, therefore all hotels and accommodations are about 30-40% higher than the normal rate due to demand.

Day 1: Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, private transfer to the hotel

A member of our team will meet you at the airport after you have gone through customs and transfer to your hotel. Today is left free for you to get settled in and rest before your wonderful journey across Mongolia. Accommodation: Hotel ****

Day 2: Ulaanbaatar City Tour

Meet your English-speaking local guide at 9.00am in the hotel lobby for your tour of Ulaanbaatar. Today you will explore the main sights of this unique city. Visit the Gandan Monastery, housing a 26 meter high gilded statue of the Buddha, explore the Genghis Khan monument in the main square and the National Museum, which has a number of fascinating displays of traditional Mongolian clothing and weaponry, as well as exhibits charting the course of Genghis Khan's empire-building. We will have our first group lunch in a Mongolian restaurant. Afterwards visit the Bogd Khaan’s Palace Museum – the residence of the last king of Mongolia, the Buddha Park and the Zaisan Memorial located on a picturesque hill south of the city for a panoramic view of the nomadic capital and the Buddha Park. Transfer back to the hotel by 6 pm. Dinner is not included tonight, however we will make suggestions for you. Accommodation: Hotel **** , B+L, 6 – 7 hr of excursion

Day 3: Ulaanbaatar – Elsen Tasarkhai

In the morning we pack the vehicles and start our journey west towards Elsen Tasarkhai. The drive takes us through the green grassland to arrive at the local camel breeding family’s home with stunning sand dunes, streams and rocky mountains. Here we will enjoy some hiking around the area. After dinner with the local family we will begin our camel trekking at dusk to head deeper into the dunes. We will stay in a wilderness camp Mongolia’s spectacular starry sky. Tonight’s accommodation is in comfortable tents. Accommodation: Tent, B+L+D

Day 3: Camel Riding along the Sand Dunes

After breakfast we ride our camels back to the family guesthouse before exploring more of the area’s stunning sand dunes. We will visit the ruins of the Erdene Khamba monastery and ride the camels deeper into the mountains. Stay overnight in tents. Accommodation: Tent, B+L+D

Day 5: Elsen Tasarkhai – Karakorum

Enjoy a delicious breakfast before riding back to our waiting vans. Say goodbye to the camels and start the drive to Mongolia’s ancient capital, Karakorum. We visit the legendary monastery Erdene Zuu, the first Buddhist monastery in Central Mongolia founded in 1586, as well as other nearby attractions such as Turtle Rock and the Phallic Stone. In the afternoon we will visit the newly established Museum of Karakorum which gives a great introduction to Central Mongolia, its history and the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Orkhon River Valley. Stay in a traditional ger camp. Accommodation: Ger camp, B+L+D

Day 6: Karakorum - Hustai National Park

After breakfast we will drive to Hustai National Park, where the Takhi wild horses graze peacefully with other animals. Here we will watch a short documentary about the national park, before venturing out to search for the beautiful Takhi horses, birds and other wildlife. Overnight at the ger camp. Accommodation: Ger camp, B+L+D

Day 7: Hustai National Park - Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast we drive back to Ulaanbaatar (1.5 hours) and drop our bags off at the hotel. In the afternoon we pay a visit to the giant Genghis Statue (1hr from Ulaanbaatar), a site not to be missed, and then return to the city. For those interested, there will be optional souvenir and cashmere shopping. Enjoy a traditional folklore concert by the magical Tumen Ekh ensemble. There will be a farewell dinner tonight. Accommodation: Hotel****, B+L+D

Day 8: Departure from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

End your tour with an included transfer to the airport or train station after breakfast. Accommodation: B
